Support for Parenting Partners and Individuals

Denver, Colorado Therapy for Parents

Therapy for parents considers the unique experience of being a parent. When working with parents in either individual, couples, or family therapy I aim to provide support for dealing with the issues that are present in the role of a caregiver. Although the topics that may bring each parent to therapy are limitless some of the themes of therapy when working with parents are:

Life Transitions

Supporting parents through major life transitions including the first time bringing a baby home and change in the couple’s relationship that results in adding a child to the existing dynamics.

Self-Care

Encouraging self-care practices for parents often in the form of finding a balance between work, family, and personal life.

Parental Mental Health:

Exploring parental mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression, stress, loneliness, overwhelm, and loss of autonomy.

Self-Awareness:

Processing of the parenting experience to increase understanding of their own emotions and reactions, and how these impact their parenting style and relationship with their partner and child.

Therapy for parents can be conducted individually, as a couple, or in a group setting, depending on the specific needs and preferences of the parents involved. It is a collaborative process that empowers parents to navigate the complexities of raising children and create a nurturing family environment while also maintaining a sense of autonomy.

By exploring and understanding your unique experience as a parent, we can work together to create positive changes, enhance your connections, and cultivate a more fulfilling and enriching life. Reach out today!
